This 7,946-acre property, a brand new combination state park and wildlife management area, is now accessible to the public. The site includes an undeveloped 14-mile stretch of the Marias River, as well as sagebrush grassland and short grass prairie habitats in the uplands.
From the south, take Exit 358 off I-15, north on Marias Valley Road, go under I-15 to Hjartason Road west. Go 10 mi. to McCormick Rd. Follow signs for 2.5 miles. From Hwy. 2, travel 10.5 miles west of Shelby or 12 miles east of Cut Bank, go south on Ethridge Rd. 3 mi. to jct with Hjartson Rd., then 1 mi. on Hjartson to McCormick Rd. Follow signs for 2.5 miles.
